The Chenango Branch Railroad schedule for express passenger trains shows a 2:45 trip from Syracuse leaving at 6:45AM. The Earlville to Syracuse train was schedule to leave at 6:30 with arrival in syracuse at 9:15. The mid-day train made the run some 20 minutes quicker but skipped past many of the smaller stations enroute. The trains were scheduled such that they would meet from opposite directions at Cazenovia. This meeting would prove critical in later years when the smaller locomotives used to pass through the low-clearnace tunnel to the station's north could be turned around, connected to the northbound train with the larger locomotives doing the same and returning southward. |
