Chenango Branch Bridges over Limestone Creek. The original pass over Limestone Creek was made via wooden trestle which the railroad began to fill in with solid earth to create the raised railbed seen today. During late fall of 1876 a construction train engaged in the project derailed atop the trestle causing all cars and its locomotive to fall to the side some ten feet below the track level.
